Parallel Floral Design Workshop

Myra Knight, long time and active member of Basin Gardeners Association, shared her knowledge and talents in Floral Design by conducting a workshop on May 23rd for members and guests.

She skillfully guided us through the steps involved in creating a "Parallel Design".

Parallel Design, generally defined as a "design in which three or more groupings are placed in parallel manner with open spaces between the groupings. Parallel direction may be vertical, horizontal, or diagonal. Design is in one container or in containers combined so as to appear as one unit."

Following are the results of an evening of learning and enjoyment.

Well done everyone!

Nancy G. has graciously offered her home for a floral arranging workshop.

(To view images as a slide show, click on the picture below.)

Myra brought the flowers and greenery for all to share.

She guides us through the steps involved in this design.

We all focus and create unique arrangements.

Making decisions about colour and texture.

Gently placing each piece in the desired location.

Busy hands.

Feeling proud

Perfect...just the way I want it!

Tea time.

Dainties and sandwiches are waiting.

All that concentration worked up an appetite!
Glenda has the honour of serving the tea.

Nancy says:
There is nothing more enjoyable than entertaining guests at the Guest house.
